For the 450th anniversary of the beginning of the construction of Litomyšl Castle, a UNESCO monument, we prepared a painted guide for children. In the visual design of the printed material, we tried to reflect the trend that today’s children would like to look at and at the same time a touch of history through an almost baroque art style.
We illustrated 20 chapters of the complete history of the castle. For each chapter, we also gave each text a unified background for graphic purposes. Here, it was important to match the illustrator and the graphic designer who was in charge of typesetting the text, so that the whole publication was artistically balanced and sweetened.
The guide also included a timeline of the castle’s history and a map that introduces children to the most important parts of the building.
