We keep repeating it. We love clients who have the courage to create something really different. And when we talk about TV spots that promote the sale of toys, we dare say that the difference is doubly true for 4KIDS. We were tasked with creating a spot with a distinctly comic book feel, where the target audience is definitely not children, but parents.
Before we start drawing and animating, we need to know what the footage and timing will be. How the sequences will feel and how the voice over (dubbing) will fit in. That’s what animatics are for, and they also serve as animated sketches for client approval.

The Christmas spot was created in a simpler form of animation. A budget solution can sometimes make sense when using the strong potential of an idea or story, investing more in visual detail.
